Anime Adventures Return Timeline
From shutdown to today — confirmed milestones, with unconfirmed reports clearly marked.
DMCA takedown — game goes private
Anime Adventures, one of Roblox's most-visited tower defense games (nearly 2 billion visits), is removed following a DMCA takedown over unlicensed anime assets. Developer Gomu sets the experience to private, where it remains today.
Official comeback announcement — holiday return teased
The developers publish an official announcement and trailer pointing to a return during the 2024 holiday season, including a Christmas update. Community excitement peaks.
The return doesn't happen
The holiday window passes with no relaunch. The game stays private through 2025, with no new official date given. "Is Anime Adventures coming back?" becomes a recurring question with no confirmed answer.
Reported: Kodansha collaboration project
Community videos report that Gomu is working on a licensed project with major Japanese publisher Kodansha, showing a new map called "TenSura: Isekai Adventures". The report has not been confirmed through Gomu's official channels, and it is not yet clear whether the project is part of Anime Adventures itself or a separate game — but a licensed path would directly address the IP problem behind the 2023 takedown. Search interest in the game spikes for the first time in years.
Store page updates and comeback coverage surge
Players spot updated icons and bundle assets on the game's Roblox store page, and "Anime Adventures is back" videos spread across YouTube. Nothing is officially playable yet — but development activity is visibly ongoing.
Official relaunch date — pending
When Gomu confirms a date, this timeline gets its final entry, and every code on our codes page gets re-tested in-game on day one.
See the codes page for the full last known list.
Release Date FAQ
Is Anime Adventures coming back in 2026?
Possibly — the reported Kodansha collaboration and the recent store page updates are the strongest signals yet — but there is no confirmed date. Anyone quoting a specific day is guessing.
Why did the 2024 return fall through?
No official explanation was published. The working assumption in the community is that resolving the licensing issues behind the DMCA takedown took far longer than expected — which is what a licensed deal like the reported Kodansha project would be designed to fix.
Will my old account progress carry over?
Unknown. The developers have not confirmed whether the relaunch restores old data, starts fresh, or runs as a separate experience. We will update this page as soon as anything official is said.
